OMG! 2020: The first three month🤬

Doctor Geek/Nerd

Hey Peeps,

I haven’t posted since January so here’s an update.

The first three months of 2020 has just been bananas! I went from full tilt boogie to screeching halt. Let’s start with the robotics team.

FTC 12535 The Revolutionary Robots was invited to compete at Worlds at the State Championships in Weatherford, OK on February 22. From there on the team went into outreach fundraising mode. Press releases were sent out, a GoFund me campaign was started, they participated in Adams Elementary’s STEAM night, they attend, a Tulsa invitational, and the girls represented the team at an OKWIT event. Then on March 12th, FIRST announced Worlds was cancelled due to concerns of the Covid-19 virus. The team and coaches were just heart broken.

On the design side, I had been attending AIGA’s cocktails with creatives on a regular basis and attended some of their local events. I found the members friendly and supportive and after doing some research on AIGA I’ve decided to embrace my role as a designer and become a member. Turns out though, not long after I became a member, AIGA had to cancel all of their social activities due to Covid-19.

Those of you who follow me on Instagram have probably noticed an increase in content since January. The last three months has been all about content, content, content. The idea was to be as prolific as possible for the first quarter of the year. It worked too. Some folks have reached out to me and there may be some new opportunities on the horizon.

But, with Covid-19 shutting everyone down, I’ve been using the opportunity wisely. I’ve reviewed all the content I threw out into the world and started an online store here on the website. The content is motion background videos. They are royalty free and each video is 99¢. Over the next two month I’ll be experimenting with different thing and thinking about what new content I want to design so stay tuned.
